Low tyre pressure warning

If the vehicle is equipped with it, the system warns of low pressure in one or more tyres.
Operating principle
The system detects low pressure in one of the tyres by measuring wheel speed while driving.
Indicator light
1 lights up
continuously to warn the driver of low pressure (underinflated tyre, punctured tyre, etc.).
Operating conditions
The system must be reset to the tyre pressure values shown on the tyre pressure label, otherwise the warning may not be reliable in the event of a significant pressure drop. See the "Tyre pressure" section in chapter 4.
This function is an additional driving aid. It does not replace the driver. In no way does it relieve the driver of the duty to drive attentively and responsibly.Check the tyre pressures, including the spare wheel, once a month.
The system may respond late or fail to work correctly in the following situations:
- the system has not been restarted after inflating the tyres or after other wheel-related work;
- the system has been reset incorrectly: the pressure value differs from the recommended value;
- a major change in load or weight placed on one side of the vehicle;
- sporty driving with rapid acceleration;
- driving on snowy or slippery roads;
- driving with snow chains fitted;
- fitting only one new tyre;
- using tyres not approved by the brand.
- ...
Resetting tyre pressure reference values
Perform a reset:
- after each tyre inflation or tyre pressure adjustment;
- when the reference tyre pressure must be changed to suit the driving conditions (unladen, laden, motorway driving, etc.);
- after replacing a wheel;
- after using a tyre inflation kit;
- after rotating the wheels (not recommended).
Always do this after checking the pressure of all four tyres with cold tyres.
The tyre pressure must match the current use of the vehicle (unladen, laden, motorway driving, etc.).
Initial setting procedure

With the ignition on
- press button 3 or 4 to select the "TYRES SET TPW" function on display 2;
- press and hold button 3 or 4 (for about 3 seconds) to start the setting procedure. The message "SET TPW STARTED" shown for about five seconds means the request to set the reference tyre pressures has been accepted.
The initial setting is carried out after driving for a few minutes.
Displaying information
Display 2 on the instrument panel shows possible tyre inflation faults (no air in a tyre, punctured tyre, etc.).
"INFLATE WHEELS AND SET TPW"
The warning light comes on
and the message
"INFLATE WHEELS AND SET TPW" appears. This means at least one wheel has too low a tyre pressure or is punctured.
If pressure has dropped, inflate that tyre.
If a tyre is punctured, replace it or contact an authorised brand dealer.
Check and correct the pressure in all tyres while cold, then start the reference tyre pressure setting. The warning light
goes out
after the reference tyre pressure values have been reset.
The system may not detect a sudden loss of tyre pressure (tyre burst, etc.).
"RESTART SET TPW"
Indicator light
The warning light
flashes for a few seconds, then stays on continuously and the message "RESTART SET TPW" appears.
This indicates that the initial setting request for the reference tyre pressure values should be started.
"TPW UNAVAILABLE"
Indicator light
The warning light
flashes for a few seconds, then stays on continuously and the message "TPW UNAVAILABLE" appears.
This means the vehicle is fitted with a spare wheel of a different size from the other four wheels, and that it is fitted to the vehicle.
"CHECK TPW"
Indicator light
The warning light
flashes for a few seconds, then stays on continuously and the message "CHECK TPW" appears.
It is accompanied by the warning light
.
They indicate a system fault and the need to contact an authorised brand dealer.
Setting tyre pressure
Tyre pressure must be adjusted with cold tyres (check the values on the label on the driver's door edge).
If it is not possible to check the pressure of cold tyres, increase the pressure by 0.2 to 0.3 bar (3 PSI).
Never release air from hot tyres.
After each tyre inflation or tyre pressure adjustment, start the initial setting of the reference tyre pressure values.
Replacing wheels/tyres
Use only equipment approved by the brand network, otherwise the system may respond late or work incorrectly. See the "Tyres" section in chapter 5.
After each wheel/tyre replacement, set the tyre pressure correctly and start the reference tyre pressure setting.
Spare Tire
If the vehicle is equipped with this feature, adjust the tyre pressures and start the initial tyre pressure setting procedure.
Tyre sealant aerosols and tyre inflation kit
Use only equipment approved by the brand network, otherwise the system may operate with a delay or incorrectly. See the "Tyre inflation kit" section in chapter 5.
After using the tyre inflation kit, adjust the tyre pressures and start the tyre pressure reference value.
