Front wiper

REMOVAL OF WIPER MECHANISM ASSEMBLY WITH MOTOR

Make sure the motor is at rest in its fixed position.

Disconnect the battery.

Mark the rest position of the wiper arms.

Open the bonnet.

Remove:

• the wiper arms using special tool Elé. 1294-01,

• the cowl grille seal,

• the canopy grille, after removing the two side covers and their two screws, and disconnecting the washer hose.

Remove the three mounting bolts (A) of the mechanism.

Disconnect the motor and remove the assembly.

Special points for refitting

Make sure the motor is in the fixed park position before refitting the wiper arms.

Clean the splines on the wiper arm shafts using a wire brush.

Refit the wiper arms, positioning the blade on the mark made during removal.

Fit new nuts and tighten to 1.8 daN.m (± 15 %) using a torque wrench.

REMOVING THE MOTOR ONLY

Make sure the motor is at rest in its fixed position.

Disconnect the battery.

Mark the rest position of the wiper arms.

Open the bonnet.

Remove:

• the wiper arms using special tool Elé. 1294-01,

• the cowl grille seal,

• the canopy grille, after removing the two side covers and their two screws, and disconnecting the washer hose.

Remove:

• the nut on the motor shaft (B) and disconnect the linkage arm after marking its position,

• the three motor mounting bolts.

Remove the motor after disconnecting it.

Special points for refitting

Reposition the linkage arm on the motor using the mark made during removal.

Make sure the motor is in the fixed park position before refitting the wiper arms.

Clean the splines on the wiper arm shafts using a wire brush.

Refit the wiper arms, positioning the blade on the mark made during removal.

Fit new nuts and tighten to 1.8 daN.m (± 15 %) using a torque wrench.
