CF094 WITHOUT PULL CORRECTION

INSTRUCTIONS

If you do not want any pull correction to be applied, validate this command.

This function cancels the pull correction type CF091 and the pull correction law CF092.
Configuration procedure:
  • connect the diagnostic tool,
  • access the Electric Power Steering diagnosis,
  • select configuration CF094 “Without pull correction”
  • switch off the ignition and wait a minimum of 15 seconds for the configuration to be taken into account

Diagnosis - Reading configurations and learned values

SC001 AND CF088: ECU CALIBRATION

INSTRUCTIONS

To be applied, among other cases, when replacing the electric power steering ECU.

Command CF008 will be performed later with the specific command SC001 “ECU calibration”

IMPORTANT: The ECU contains four different calibrations. Therefore, select the assistance law.

The ECU is supplied with configuration law 0 by default.

An unsuitable calibration level may lead to degraded performance.

Calibration procedure:
  • connect the diagnostic tool,
  • read the electric power steering diagnosis,
  • select configuration CF088 "ECU calibration",
  • configure the ECU according to the assistance level defined for the vehicle concerned (see the instruction associated with the command on CLIP),
  • exit diagnostic mode without switching off the tool (close the application only),
  • switch off the ignition,
  • wait a minimum of 15 seconds before reconnecting it so that the calibration is taken into account,
  • read back the configuration for confirmation (LC005).

LC005: ECU CALIBRATION

Configuration 0: An uncalibrated or new ECU will always be calibrated to configuration 0. This is the default calibration law.

Configuration 1: K9K engine with manual gearbox, or K4J and K4M engines with manual or automatic gearbox, fitted with 16-inch wheels or smaller.

Configuration 2: K9K engine with automatic gearbox, or F4R and F9Q engines with manual or automatic gearbox, fitted with 16-inch wheels or smaller.

Configuration 3: K9K engine with manual gearbox, or K4J and K4M engines with manual or automatic gearbox, fitted with 17-inch or larger wheels.

Configuration 4: K9K engine with automatic gearbox, or F4R and F9Q engines with manual or automatic gearbox, fitted with 17-inch or larger wheels.

If the ECU calibration is not the desired one, change the configuration using command CF088 or SC001.

CF085: STEERING ANGLE SENSOR LEARNING

INSTRUCTIONS

To be applied, among other cases, when the Electric Power Steering ECU is replaced.

IMPORTANT:

The steering wheel angle configuration is the learning of the 0 angle. It must be performed for any new (blank) ECU and each time it is requested in this note.

If this angle is missing or incorrectly learned, the “service” warning light will come on (see “warning light activation strategy”) and a Dynamic Driving Control fault will occur.

LEARNING PROCEDURE:
  • start the engine
  • turn the steering wheel to the left lock, then to the right lock
  • reposition the vehicle with the wheels straight and the steering at centre point
  • select command CF085
  • while the status shows “command in progress”, turn the steering wheel a quarter turn to the left; the status then changes to “command completed”
  • switch off the ignition and wait a minimum of 15 seconds before switching it back on so that the learning is taken into account
  • turn the steering wheel to the left lock, then to the right lock
  • check the value of the steering wheel angle sensor status
  • check for faults:
  • if faults are present, apply the corresponding procedure, then run the configuration again
  • if there are no faults, learning is complete

LC012: steering wheel angle sensor learning

STATE 1: Not calibrated and not indexed.
STATE 2: Not calibrated and indexed.
STATE 3: Calibrated and not initialised.
STATE 4: Calibrated and initialised.

CF094: WITHOUT PULL CORRECTION

INSTRUCTIONS

If you do not want any pull correction to be applied, validate this command.

This function cancels the pull correction type CF091 and the pull correction law CF092.
Configuration procedure:
  • connect the diagnostic tool,
  • access the Electric Power Steering diagnosis,
  • select configuration CF094 “Without pull correction”.
  • switch off the ignition and wait a minimum of 15 seconds for the configuration to be taken into account.

CF092: PULL CORRECTION LAW

INSTRUCTIONS

To be applied following a pulling effect noticed by the customer.

Calibration procedure:
  • connect the diagnostic tool,
  • access the Electric Power Steering diagnosis,
  • select configuration CF092 “Pull correction law”.
  • configure the ECU according to the desired correction law. This law depends on the vehicle behaviour (see instructions in CLIP).
  • exit diagnostic mode without switching off the tool (close the application only)
  • switch off the ignition and wait a minimum of 15 seconds
  • return to Electric Power Steering diagnostic mode
  • read the configuration readout again for confirmation (LC009)

LC009: Pull correction law

STATE 1 “slight left”: the vehicle pulls slightly to the left when driving straight ahead.

STATE 2 “strong left”: the vehicle pulls strongly to the left when driving straight ahead.

STATE 3 “slight right”: the vehicle pulls slightly to the right when driving straight ahead.

STATE 4 “strong right”: the vehicle pulls strongly to the right when driving straight ahead.

STATE 5 “very slight left and right” (self-adaptive correction only): the vehicle pulls very slightly to the left or to the right when driving straight ahead.

If the correction law does not match the pull observed on the vehicle, change the configuration using command CF092.

AFTER REPAIR

Carry out a fault check with the diagnostic tool.

CF091: PULL CORRECTION TYPE

INSTRUCTIONS

To be applied following a pulling effect noticed by the customer.

Calibration procedure:
  • connect the diagnostic tool,
  • access the Electric Power Steering diagnosis,
  • select configuration CF091 “Pull correction law”.
  • configure the ECU according to the desired correction type: constant or self-adaptive
  • exit diagnostic mode without switching off the tool (close the application only)
  • switch off the ignition and wait a minimum of 15 seconds
  • read the configuration readout again for confirmation (LC008)

LC008: Pull correction type

STATE 1 “Constant correction”: the pull will be compensated by a constant torque. If the vehicle pull increases or decreases, the correction will always be the same and will not adapt to the new value.

STATE 2 “Self-adaptive correction”: the pull will be compensated by a variable torque. If the pull increases or decreases slightly, the correction will adapt a specific torque to each variation and correct the pull even if its value changes.

If the type of correction is not the one required, change the configuration using command CF091.
