In the event of a puncture, depending on the vehicle, you have:
A spare wheel or a tyre inflator kit (refer to the following pages).
Spare wheel
It is stored in the luggage compartment. To access it:
- open the tailgate;
- depending on the vehicle, unscrew the tie-down hooks;
- fold back the boot mat using tab 1;
- unscrew the central fixing;
- remove the spare wheel.
Note: The "tyre pressure monitoring system" does not monitor the spare wheel (the wheel replaced by the spare disappears from the instrument panel display).
Refer to the "Tyre pressure monitoring system" section in chapter 2.
If the spare wheel has been kept for many years, have your garage check that it is still suitable and can be used safely.Vehicles fitted with a spare wheel smaller than the other four wheels:
- Never fit more than one spare wheel to the same vehicle.
- Replace the spare wheel as soon as possible with a wheel of the same size as the original.
- During use, which must be temporary, the driving speed must not exceed the speed indicated on the label on the wheel.
- Fitting this wheel may change the normal handling of your vehicle. Avoid sudden acceleration or braking and reduce your speed when cornering.
- If you must use snow chains, fit them to the rear wheels and check the tyre pressures.
