WARNING- Draining must be carried out with the engine warm.
- Flushing and refilling must be carried out with the engine warm or cold.
- Never flush a hot engine (risk of major thermal shock).
Location of the bleed screw on the water housing

- bleed screw on the water housing F9Q, K9K

- bleed screw on the water housing F4R, K4M, K4J
DRAINING - FLUSHING
- Open:
- the cooling system at the lower radiator hose,
- the expansion tank and the bleed screws in order to drain the system.
- Retighten the bleed screws.
- Refit the lower hose without its clip.
- Fill the system with tap water to flush it.
- Disconnect the lower hose.
- Open the bleed screws.
- Blow compressed air into the system through the expansion tank valve opening to drain as much water as possible.
- Refit the lower hose and its clip.
- Do not tighten the bleed screws.
- Coolant circulates continuously through the heater matrix (the heater matrix contributes to engine cooling).
FILLING
WARNINGThe engine must be stopped and the air conditioning system switched off so that the cooling fan does not run at the start of the operation.
- It is essential to open the bleed screws:
- on the water housing,
- on a radiator hose of the heater.
- Fill the system through the expansion tank opening.
- Close the bleed screws as soon as the liquid flows in a continuous stream.
