Convenient Features of Your Vehicle

Gauges

~3min read

Speedometer

The speedometer shows vehicle speed and is calibrated in miles per hour (mph) and/or kilometers per hour (km/h).

Tachometer

The tachometer shows the approximate engine speed in revolutions per minute (rpm).

Use the tachometer to select the correct shift points and to prevent wheel spin and/or over-revving the engine.

NOTICE

Do not operate the engine in the RED ZONE of the tachometer. Doing so may cause serious engine damage.

Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor

This gauge shows the engine coolant temperature when the ignition switch or engine start/stop button is in the ON position.

NOTICE

If the gauge pointer moves beyond the normal range toward the "H" position, it indicates engine overheating, which may damage the engine.

Do not continue driving with an overheated engine. If your vehicle overheats, refer to "If the Engine Overheats" in chapter 6.

WARNING

Never remove the radiator cap when the engine is hot. Engine coolant is under pressure and may cause severe scalding. Wait until the engine has cooled before adding coolant to the reservoir.

Fuel Gauge

This gauge shows the approximate amount of fuel remaining in the fuel tank.

Information

  • Refer to chapter 8 for the fuel tank capacity.
  • The fuel gauge is supplemented by the low fuel warning light, which illuminates when the fuel tank is nearly empty.
  • On inclines or curves, the fuel gauge needle may fluctuate, or the low fuel warning light may illuminate earlier than usual due to fuel movement in the tank.

WARNING

Running out of fuel may endanger the vehicle occupants. Stop and obtain additional fuel as soon as possible after the warning light illuminates or when the gauge needle approaches the "E (Empty)" mark.

NOTICE

Avoid driving with a very low fuel level. Running out of fuel may cause engine misfires and damage the catalytic converter.

Odometer

The odometer shows the total distance the vehicle has traveled and should be used to determine when periodic maintenance is due.

- Odometer range: 0 ~ 999999 miles or kilometers.

Outside Air Temperature Gauge

This gauge shows the current outside air temperature to the nearest 1°F (1°C).

- Temperature range: -40°F to 140°F (-40°C to 60°C)

The outside air temperature display may not change immediately as it normally does. The thermometer is designed so that the driver is not distracted.

To change the temperature unit from °F to °C or from °C to °F, select it using one of the following methods:

- Go to User Settings Mode ➝ Other Features ➝ Temperature Unit.
- Press and hold the AUTO button for 3 seconds while holding the OFF button. (Automatic climate control system)

The temperature unit on both the cluster LCD and the climate control display will change.

Icy Road Warning Light

This warning light alerts the driver to possible black ice on the road.

When the following conditions occur, the warning light (including the outside air temperature sensor indicator) flashes 5 times, then stays on, and a warning chime sounds once.

- The outside air temperature sensor reading is below approximately 40°F (4°C).

Information

If the black ice warning light illuminates while driving, continue to drive carefully and safely, avoiding excessive speed, rapid acceleration, sudden braking or sharp turns, etc.

Automatic Transmission Shift Indicator / Ecoshift Dual Clutch Transmission Shift Indicator

This indicator shows which automatic transmission shift lever position is selected.

• Park: P
• Reverse: R
• Neutral: N
• Drive: D

• Manual Shift Mode

- Automatic transmission:

1~6 (6-speed automatic transmission)

1~8 (8-speed automatic transmission)

- Ecoshift Dual Clutch Transmission: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7

Pop-up Shift Indicator

The pop-up window displays the currently selected transmission position for 2 seconds (P/R/N/D).
