Inspection

Diagnosis with GDS
  1. The body electrical system can be quickly diagnosed for faulty parts using the Global Diagnostic System (GDS). The GDS provides the following information.
    1. Self-Diagnosis: Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) check and display
    2. Current Data: Check the system input/output status.
    3. Actuator Test: Checking System Operating Status
    4. Additional Functions: Other controls such as system option and zero point adjustment.
  2. Select "Vehicle Model" and the system to be checked to inspect the vehicle with the tester.
  3. Select "Power Seat Module (PSM)" to check the power seat module (PSM).
  4. Select the "Current Data" menu to check the current input/output status. Input/output for sensors related to the power seat module (PSM) can be checked.
  5. If you force-check the power door lock operation, select "Activation Check".
  6. Disconnect the connector for each motor. [Slide Motor]
    [Rear Height Motor]
    [Front Height Motor]
    [Tilt Motor]
    [Lumbar Support Motor]
  7. Connect the battery directly to the motor terminals and check that the motors operate smoothly.
  8. Reverse the connections and check that the motor rotates in the opposite direction.
  9. If there are any abnormalities, replace the motors. [Driver/Passenger]
Power Seat Motor Tilt Motor Limit Switch
The power seat motor (IMS specification) installed in this vehicle uses a hall sensor to calculate maximum travel distance, so it does not require a limit switch. However, the driver and passenger seats that meet NON-IMS specifications have limit switches in the motors at the rear of the seats.
  1. Disconnect the limit switch and check the limit switch.
  2. Check the circuit between the terminals for continuity.
  3. Make sure the seat operates normally in the reverse direction after maximum operation.
  4. If out of specification, replace the limit switch.

Remove

Front Seat
  1. Disconnect the battery terminals.
  2. Remove the front seat assembly. (Refer to Body - "Front Seat Assembly")
