Power Windows

~1min read

The ignition switch must be in the ON position to raise or lower the windows. Each door has a Power Window switch to control the window of that door. The driver has a Power Window lock switch that can disable operation of the passenger window. Power windows will operate for approximately 30 seconds after the ignition switch is turned to the ACC or LOCK/OFF position. However, if either front door is opened, the power windows cannot operate even within the 30 seconds.

WARNING

To avoid serious injury or death, do not put your head, hands, or body outside the window while the vehicle is moving.

Information

  • In cold and humid climates, power windows may not operate properly due to freezing conditions.
  • While driving with the rear windows lowered or the sunroof (if equipped) open (or partially open), the vehicle may exhibit wind buffeting or a pulsating noise. This noise is normal and can be reduced or eliminated by performing the following actions. If the noise occurs with one or both rear windows lowered, lower both front windows approximately one inch. If you hear the noise with the sunroof open, slightly close the sunroof.
