Smart Key Precautions

~1min read

The Smart Key will not work if any of the following occurs:

  • The Smart Key is near a radio transmitter, such as a radio station or airport, which may interfere with normal transmitter operation.
  • The Smart Key is near a two-way mobile radio system or cellular phone.
  • A smart key of another vehicle is being used near your vehicle.

If the Smart Key does not work properly, lock or unlock the door using the mechanical key. If you have a problem with the Smart Key, contact an authorized HYUNDAI dealer.

If the Smart Key is placed in close proximity to your mobile phone, the signal may be blocked by your mobile phone, preventing normal operation. This is especially important when the phone is in use, such as when making or receiving calls, sending or receiving text messages, and/or sending or receiving e-mail. Avoid placing the Smart Key and mobile phone in the same trouser or jacket pocket, and always try to maintain sufficient distance between the two devices.

CAUTION

Keep the Smart Key away from electromagnetic materials that block electromagnetic waves to the key surface.
