What to Do in an Emergency

Using the Tire Mobility Kit

~1min read

CAUTION

Remove the speed limit label (0) from the sealant bottle (1) and place it in a visible location inside the vehicle, such as on the steering wheel, to remind the driver not to drive too fast.

1. Shake the sealant bottle (1).

2. Connect the filler hose (3) to the sealant bottle (2) in direction (A), and connect the sealant bottle to the compressor (6) in direction (B).

3. Make sure the compressor is turned off.

4. Unscrew the cap from the valve of the flat tire and screw the fill hose (3) of the sealant bottle onto the valve.

CAUTION

Securely install the sealant filler hose onto the valve. Otherwise, sealant may flow backward, which may cause the filler hose to become clogged.

5. Plug the compressor power cord (4) into the vehicle power outlet.

NOTICE

When connecting the power cord, use only the front passenger side power outlet.

6. With the ignition key in the ON position, turn on the compressor and let it run for approximately 5-7 minutes to fill the tire with sealant to the proper pressure (refer to "Tires and Wheels", Chapter 8). Tire pressure after inflation is not critical and will be checked/adjusted later.

Be careful not to overinflate the tire, and keep away from the tire while inflating it.

CAUTION

Tire Pressure

Do not attempt to drive the vehicle if tire pressure is below 200 kPa (29 psi). This may cause an accident due to sudden tire failure.

7. Turn off the compressor.

8. Disconnect the hoses from the sealant bottle connector and from the tire valve.

Return the tire mobility kit to its storage location in the vehicle.

WARNING

Carbon Monoxide

Do not leave the vehicle with the engine running in a poorly ventilated area for long periods. Carbon monoxide poisoning and suffocation may occur.
