Wireless Mobile Phone Charging System

~2min read

A wireless cell phone charger is located inside the front console.

The system is available when all doors are closed and the Engine Start/Stop button is in the ACC/ON position.

To charge a cellular phone

The wireless mobile phone charging system only charges mobile phones that support the Qi standard (). Read the label on the mobile phone case or visit the website of your mobile phone manufacturer to check whether your mobile phone supports Qi technology.

The wireless charging process starts when you place a Qi-compatible mobile phone on the wireless charger.

1. Remove any other items, including the Smart Key, from the wireless charging device. Otherwise, the wireless charging process may be interrupted.

2. During charging, the indicator light is orange. The indicator light changes to green when charging is complete.

3. You can turn the wireless charging function on or off in the User Settings mode on the instrument cluster. (For more information, refer to LCD Modes in this chapter.)

Slightly reposition the cell phone if it is not being charged. Make sure the indicator light is orange. The indicator may not change to green depending on the cell phone type, even when charging is complete. The indicator flashes orange for 10 seconds if there is a malfunction in the wireless charging system. In this case, temporarily stop charging and try wireless charging the cell phone again.

The system will warn you with a message on the LCD when the cell phone is not removed from the wireless charger with the driver's door open and the Engine Start/Stop button in the OFF position.

NOTICE

  • The wireless cell phone charging system may not support certain cell phones that have not been verified to comply with the Qi specification ( ).
  • Place your cell phone in the center of the wireless cell phone charging system. Even if your cell phone is slightly off-center, the charging speed may decrease.
  • The wireless charging process may temporarily stop when the Smart Key function is operating (i.e., starting the engine, locking, or unlocking the doors).
  • For some cell phones, the indicator may not change to green even when the wireless charging process is completed correctly.
  • The wireless charging process may temporarily stop if the temperature inside the wireless cell phone charging system rises abnormally. Wireless charging restarts when the temperature drops to an appropriate level.
  • The wireless charging process may temporarily stop if any metal object, such as a coin, is between the wireless cell phone charging system and the cell phone.
