Manual transmission repair is difficult work for a home mechanic. Repair requires removing and refitting many small parts. Numerous clearances must be measured precisely and, if necessary, adjusted using selective spacers, shims and snap rings. Therefore, if problems occur with the transmission, it can be removed and installed by yourself, but repair is best entrusted to a specialist at a service station!
