Are all ignition coil and distributor leads correctly connected?
Are there cracks in the ignition coil housing or signs of burning from sparking?
Remove the distributor cap. Can current leakage tracks be seen on its inner surface? Does the carbon contact in the center of the cap spring properly? Are there signs of copper corrosion?
If all of the above is in order, only a complete check of the entire ignition system will help.
