In test operation, the various versions of the Audi 80 proved to be economical: 4-cylinder engines consumed from 7.8 to 10.3 L per 100 km, 5-cylinder engines from 8.5 to 13 L, and 6-cylinder engines from 8.1 to 12.3 L. These figures were achieved, respectively, during calm touring driving and on sections driven at full throttle.
