Ignition System
In this manual: Ignition System
~1min read
The ignition system ensures correct combustion in the engine by producing sparks at precisely timed moments. This must be exact: at an average engine speed of 3000 rpm, each cylinder needs 25 sparks per second. A 4-cylinder engine therefore needs 100 sparks per second, 6000 per minute, 360,000 per hour, and so on.
