Description of the front airbags

The airbag system must never replace the seat belts!

The driver front airbag is housed in the steering wheel padding => Fig. 179. The front passenger airbag

is housed in the dashboard, above the glove compartment => Fig. 180. Each mounting location is marked with the word “AIRBAG”.

In severe frontal collisions, the front airbag, combined with the three-point seat belts, provides the driver and front passenger with additional protection for the head and upper body. See section “Important safety information about front airbags”.
