Fuel types

The fuel type to use is listed on the inside of the fuel filler flap.

The vehicle is equipped with a catalytic converter and requires unleaded gasoline only. Unleaded gasoline must comply with the European standard EN 228. Different grades of gasoline are distinguished by their octane ratings (RON). If you are unable to fill up with the fuel type suited to your vehicle, please observe the following:

  • For engines that require unleaded premium 95 RON according to "Specifications and Capacities": you may also use unleaded regular 91 RON. However, this will result in a slight reduction in power.
  • For engines that, according to “Capacities and Specifications”, require Super Plus unleaded 98 RON, you may also use Super unleaded 95 RON. Under unfavorable operating conditions, this may result in a slight loss of power. - If Super fuel is not available, you may exceptionally refuel with regular unleaded 91 RON. In this case, run the engine only at medium speeds and place only light loads on it.

In this case, avoid placing heavy loads on the engine, such as driving at full throttle. Add Super fuel as soon as possible.

Warning!

  • A small amount of ethanol may be blended into gasoline that meets EN 228. However, do not fill up with “bioethanol fuels” available commercially as E50 or E85, or with any fuel containing a high proportion of ethanol, as this will damage the fuel system.
  • A single tank of leaded fuel is enough to permanently reduce the efficiency of the catalytic converter.
  • If fuel with a low octane rating is used, the engine may be damaged if it is subjected to heavy loads or run at high engine speeds.
