CHILD SEAT ADVICE
Incorrect installation of a child seat in the vehicle compromises the child’s protection in the event of a collision.
When installing a child seat using the seat belt, make sure the belt is taut on the child seat and holds the child seat firmly on the vehicle seat.
Always fasten the seat belts or the harness of child seats, keeping slack relative to the child's body to a minimum, even for short journeys.
For optimum installation of a forward-facing child seat, make sure its backrest rests firmly against the backrest of the vehicle seat and that the head restraint does not get in the way.
If you need to remove the head restraint, make sure it is stored or secured to prevent it from becoming a projectile in the event of heavy braking.
Children under 10 years old must not be transported in a forward-facing position in the front passenger seat, unless the rear seats are already occupied by other children or the rear seats are unusable or absent.
Deactivate the passenger airbag * as soon as a “rear-facing” child seat is installed in the front passenger seat. Otherwise, the child could be seriously injured or killed when the airbag deploys.
Installing a booster seat
The shoulder portion of the belt must be positioned over the child’s shoulder without touching the neck.
Make sure the lap portion of the seat belt passes across the child’s thighs.
CITROËN recommends using a booster seat with a backrest, fitted with a belt guide at shoulder level.
For safety reasons, never leave:
- one or more children alone and unattended in a vehicle,
- a child or an animal in a car exposed to the sun with the windows closed,
- keys within reach of children inside the vehicle.
To prevent the doors from being opened accidentally, use the “Child lock” system.
Do not open the rear windows by more than one third.
To protect your young children from the sun's rays, fit the rear windows with side sun blinds.
* Depending on destination and legislation in force in your country.
