Performance
The underinflation function provides information on the tyre status (puncture or underinflation) by measuring tyre pressure using a transmitter module (one per wheel to be monitored).
The RF receiver, located in the steering wheel switch module, retransmits the information sent to the BSI, which determines the tyre position and pressure status.
Functional description
| STEP | DETAILS |
| 1 | The transmitter module measures the pressure inside the tyre and sends it as an RF signal to the RF receiver located in the steering wheel switch module. |
| 2 | The steering wheel switch module receives the tyre pressure values and transmits them to the BSI via the VAN CAR 1 network. |
| 3 | The BSI determines the tyre position and pressure status. If the measured pressure is below the permitted thresholds, the BSI activates the warning lamps on the instrument cluster and the buzzer integrated into the steering wheel switch module, and informs the driver of the tyre pressure status on the multifunction display. |
Note: The spare tyre is not fitted with a transmitter module.
