Switching the engine to STOP mode

~1min read

The "ECO" indicator light comes on in the
instrument panel and the engine switches to standby:

  • with manual gearbox, when stationary or at speeds below 20 km/h, when the gear lever is set to neutral and the clutch pedal is released.
  • with 5- or 6-speed automated gearbox, when stationary or at speeds below 8 km/h, when the brake pedal is pressed or when the gear selector is moved to position N.
  • with automatic gearbox, when stationary, when the brake pedal is pressed or when the gear selector is moved to position N.

The timer counts the time spent in STOP mode during the journey.

The timer resets each time the ignition is switched on with the key.

For your convenience, STOP mode does not activate for a few seconds after reverse gear is disengaged during parking manoeuvres. Stop & Start does not change vehicle functions such as braking, power steering... Never refuel while the engine is in STOP mode; always switch off the ignition with the key.
