GENERAL INFORMATION.

For removal procedures of the strut assembly, refer to subsection 14.6.

Remove or disconnect:

PROCEDURE.

1. Compress the suspension spring..

2. Remove the protective cover of the upper mount..

3. Remove nut 35 and washer

34. (Use special tool J36710)..

4. Release the spring..

5. Remove strut upper mount 39, cup washer 40, plastic bearing 41, strut protective cover 42, upper spring seat 43, spring 44, compression bumper 45,.

6. Loosen strut screw cap 31 using wrench KM-

331. Cap is tightened.

with torque 200 N·m..

7. Shock absorber

Clean.

PROCEDURE.

1. Clean the strut internal thread..

2. Use a new threaded cap 31 from the spare parts kit.

Installation or connection.

Warning.

New cap 31 is coated with paraffin, which must not be removed. Paraffin

is also a lubricant and protects against corrosion..

PROCEDURE.

1. Cap

31. Use a new cap. Tighten strut screw cap 31.

to 200 N·m..

2. Install the strut in the spring compressor tool..

Warning.

Before installing the strut upper mount, make sure that.

the upper mount bearing is properly lubricated..

3. Install the following parts: 46, 45, 44, 43, 42, 41, 40,

39..

4. Compress the spring..

5. Washer

6. Nut

35. Tighten piston rod nut 35 to torque 55 N·m..
