Coolant
GENERAL INFORMATION.
The engine cooling system is filled with ethylene glycol-based low-freezing coolant.
Coolant of normal concentration has a low
freezing point and high protective properties against corrosion of
metal parts of the engine cooling system and heater. Therefore, do not replace the coolant with water, even in summer. On a cold engine, the coolant level
must be between the MAX and MIN marks on the reservoir wall.

rises as the engine warms up to normal operating temperature, and
drops as the engine cools. If the coolant level in the
expansion tank drops below the MIN mark, add a mixture of water and ethylene glycol to the tank
antifreeze in a 50/50 ratio and bring the coolant level to the required level.
This will maintain the low-temperature and anti-corrosion properties.
keep the coolant at the previous level.
Coolant replacement interval.
Every 40000 km or 2 years.

MPFI 6.2 .
– antifreeze 3.1 L.
– water 3.1 L.
DOHC 6,7 .
– antifreeze 3.4 L.
– water 3.4 L
Warning.
When operating the vehicle in winter, when the air temperature
remains below –34° C for an extended period, adjust the
coolant concentration to a 60/40 ratio (concentrate/water)..
Do not overfill the expansion tank. To prepare the coolant,
use only soft (distilled) water. The cylinder block and cylinder head
of the engine are made of cast iron and aluminum alloy respectively, and to protect them from corrosion, use an ethylene glycol-based coolant in the cooling system. Do not use alcohol-based
coolants (including methanol-based) or mix them with the recommended
coolant.
Avoid getting antifreeze in the eyes or on exposed skin. If this
happens, immediately flush the affected area with plenty of water and, if irritation occurs, seek medical attention..
Engine overheating.
If the coolant temperature gauge indicates overheating
of the engine or other signs of overheating appear, stop the vehicle. Switch off the air conditioning. If steam is coming from under the hood, do not stand near the vehicle. Switch off the engine. Then turn the ignition key to the ON position without starting the engine. This will activate the cooling fan, which will begin cooling the radiator..
After the steam stops coming from under the hood, open the hood. Check the coolant level.
If the coolant level drops, check
for coolant leaks at the hose connections.
the radiator, heater, as well as the radiator itself and the water pump. If you
detect a coolant leak or other defects, do not operate the
engine until all faults are corrected..
Warning.
If the coolant level drops rapidly and coolant must be added to the expansion tank frequently,
contact a service center for a
cooling system leak test..
Do not remove the expansion tank cap or radiator cap when the engine is hot..
Sprays of boiling coolant and steam escaping under pressure from under the cap can cause serious burns.
