HBA (Hydraulic Brake Assist) system

~1min read

The HBA system is designed to optimise the braking capacity of the vehicle during an emergency stop. The system recognises an emergency stop by monitoring the speed and force with which the brake pedal is pressed, and consequently applies the optimal pressure to the brakes.

This can help reduce braking distances: the HBA system therefore complements the ABS system.

The maximum assistance from the HBA system is obtained by pressing the brake pedal very quickly. Furthermore, to receive the benefits of the system, the brake pedal must be pressed continuously during braking, avoiding pumping it intermittently.

Do not reduce the pressure on the brake pedal until braking is no longer necessary.

The HBA system deactivates when the brake pedal is released.
