ESC system (electronic stability control)

~1min read

(for versions/markets where provided)

This is an electronic stability control system which helps the driver maintain directional control when tyre grip is lost. The system can recognise a potential threat to vehicle stability and intervenes automatically by applying the brakes differently at each wheel, so that the vehicle receives a stabilising moment on its path. The ESC system switches on automatically when the engine starts and cannot be switched off.

System intervention: indicated by the warning lamp flashing in the instrument clusterinforming
the driver that the vehicle is in critical conditions of stability and wheel grip.
