Pull the handle at the bottom of the lid and lower it, pressing until you hear a click as it locks.

CAUTION

36) Never exceed the maximum permitted loads when using the luggage compartment.

Also make sure that items in the luggage compartment and on the rear shelf are evenly distributed, so that they do not slide forward during sudden braking and injure passengers.

CAUTION

6) Placing items (speakers, spoiler, etc.) on the rear shelf or on the luggage compartment lid, other than those specified by the manufacturer, may cause the side gas struts of the lid to malfunction.
