Removal and Installation - Left Axle Seal

Removal

1. 1
   Position the vehicle in NEUTRAL on the lift.
   Refer to: Jacking and Lifting - Overview (100-02 Jacking and Lifting, Description and Operation).

   Remove the screws and the engine front lower splash shield.

   

3. 3
   Remove the left axle shaft.
   Refer to: Front Axle Shaft, Left (205-04 Front Axle Shafts, Removal and Installation).

   Remove and discard the axle seal.

   

Installation

1. 1
   Install a new axle seal onto the special tool.
   Use the special service tools: 205-153 (T80T-4000-W) Handle, 307-758 Installer, Axle Seal - FWD.

   

2. 2
   Using the special tools, install the left axle seal.
   Use the special service tools: 205-153 (T80T-4000-W) Handle, 307-758 Installer, Axle Seal - FWD.

   

3. 3
   Install the left axle shaft.
   Refer to: Front Axle Shaft, Left (205-04 Front Axle Shafts, Removal and Installation).

   Check the transmission fluid level.
   Refer to: Transmission Fluid Level Check (307-01B Automatic Transmission - Automatic Transmission - HF45, General Procedures).
5. 5
   Install the engine front lower splash shield and screws.
