Clean the instrument panel and instrument cluster lens with a clean, damp, soft cloth, then use a clean, dry, soft cloth to dry these areas.
- Avoid cleaners or polishes that increase the gloss of the top of the instrument panel. A dull finish in this area helps protect you from unwanted reflections on the windshield.
- Do not use household chemical products or glass cleaners, as these may damage the instrument panel finish, interior trim and cluster lens.
- Wash or wipe your hands if you have been in contact with certain products, such as insect repellent and suntan lotion, to avoid possible damage to the interior painted surfaces.
- Do not allow air fresheners and hand sanitizers to spill onto interior surfaces. In case of a spill, wipe immediately. Your warranty may not cover this damage.
If a staining liquid, such as coffee or juice, is spilled on the instrument panel or interior trim surfaces:
- Wipe up the spilled liquid with a clean, soft cloth as soon as possible.
- Use Motorcraft Premium Leather and Vinyl Cleaner or a commercially available leather cleaner suitable for automotive interiors. Test any cleaner or spot remover on an inconspicuous area.
- Alternatively, wipe the surface with a clean, soft cloth and a mild soap and water solution. Dry the area with a clean, soft cloth.
- If necessary, apply more mild soap and water solution or cleaner to a clean, soft cloth and press it onto the soiled area. Allow to set at room temperature for 30 minutes.
- Remove the wet cloth, then wipe the soiled area with a clean, damp cloth using circular motions for 60 seconds.
- Wipe the area with a clean, soft cloth.
