Removal

1. 1
   Remove the transmission.
   Refer to: Transmission — 1.5 L EcoBoost (118 kW/160 L hp) — I4 (307-01A Automatic Transmission — 6-Speed Automatic Transmission — 6F35, Removal and Installation).
2. 2
   Remove the bolts and the flexplate. Discard the bolts.

   

Installation

1. 1
   Install the flexplate and bolts, hand-tightening them.

   Install the special service tool: 303-103 (T74P-6375-A) Flywheel Holding Tool.

   

3. 3
   Tighten the flexplate bolts in the sequence shown, in 4 steps.
   Torque:
   Step 1: 133 lb-in (15 N·m)
   Step 2: 18 lb-ft (25 N·m)
   Step 3: 22 lb-ft (30 N·m)
   Step 4: 90°

   Remove the special service tool: 303-103 (T74P-6375-A) Flywheel Holding Tool.

   

5. 5
   Install the transmission.
   Refer to: Transmission — 1.5 L EcoBoost (118 kW/160 L hp) — I4 (307-01A Automatic Transmission — 6-Speed Automatic Transmission — 6F35, Removal and Installation).
6. 6
   After completing the repair, perform the Misfire Monitor Neutral Profile Relearn procedure.
