Overview

Power Driver Seat - Non-Memory

The seat control switch contains normally closed contacts, grounded. A separate circuit is switched to voltage when a specific adjustment position is selected. The seat control switch is hard-wired directly to the corresponding seat motors. Motor direction is determined by the polarity of the voltage supplied from the seat control switch via the seat control module.

The power driver seat is equipped with the following motors:

  • Front height motor (serviced with the seat track assembly)
  • Rear height motor (serviced with the seat track assembly)
  • Horizontal motor (serviced separately from the seat track assembly)
  • Recliner motor (serviced with the seat back assembly)
  • Lumbar motor (serviced with the power lumbar support)

Power Driver Seat - With Memory

If the vehicle is equipped with the programmable/recall memory option, the power driver seat is controlled by the DSM. The DSM is located on the driver seat track. This system allows automatic positioning of the driver seat to 1 of 2 programmed positions. For information on programming memory positions or recalling a stored memory position, refer to the Owner's Literature.

Power Passenger Seat

The seat control switch contains normally closed contacts, grounded. A separate circuit is switched to voltage when a specific adjustment position is selected. The seat control switch is hard-wired directly to the corresponding seat motors. Motor direction is determined by the polarity of the voltage supplied from the seat control switch via the seat control module.

The power passenger seat with 6-way adjustment is equipped with the following motors:

  • Height motor (serviced with the seat track assembly)
  • Horizontal motor (serviced separately from the seat track assembly)
  • Recliner motor (serviced with the seat back assembly)

The 10-way adjustable passenger seat is equipped with the following motors:

  • Front height motor (serviced with the seat track assembly)
  • Rear height motor (serviced with the seat track assembly)
  • Horizontal motor (serviced separately from the seat track assembly)
  • Recliner motor (serviced with the seat back assembly)
  • Lumbar motor (serviced with the power lumbar support)

Heated Seats

This system provides independent electric heating of each front seat on demand.

The seat heating system consists of the following components:

  • seat cushion heating pad
  • seat back heating pad
  • Seat heater switches located on the FCIM
  • Seat heater switches located on the FDIM (touchscreen, if equipped)

Climate Controlled Seats

This system provides independent electric heating/cooling for each front seat.

The climate controlled seat system consists of the following components:

  • Blower motor located in the cushion and backrest of each front seat.
  • Air filter attached to each blower motor assembly (non-serviceable)
  • Climate controlled seat switches located on the FCIM
  • Climate controlled seat switches located on the FDIM (touchscreen, if equipped)
  • SCME, integrated into the DSM
  • Cushion and seat back manifolds
  • Foam seat cushions and seat backs
  • Cushion and backrest covers

Remote Start Climate Control

Other climate control modes and preferences can be selected when the vehicle has started using the remote start feature. Access to this is available through the message center. For additional information on how to set the remote start initial settings, refer to the Owner's Literature. When the driver seat and/or passenger seat is set to AUTO, the driver/passenger Heated/Cooled Seat is activated to full heating when the outside temperature is below 0 °C and full cooling (cooled seats only) when the outside temperature is above 27 °C each time the vehicle is started using the remote start feature. Heated/cooled seat adjustments are not recognized during remote start operation. Once the ignition is turned on, the Heated/Cooled Seat returns to the previous settings (last ignition on) and adjustment can be made normally. If the previous setting was off, the Heated/Cooled Seat is turned off.
