General Information

If you disconnect the battery, your vehicle may exhibit unusual driving characteristics for approximately 5 miles (8 km) after reconnection. This is because the engine control system must readapt to the engine. You can ignore any unusual driving characteristics during this period.

This device complies with all Canadian interference-causing equipment standards that regulate pulsed electric fields or radio interference.

When starting the engine, do not press the accelerator pedal before or during the operation. Use the accelerator pedal only when you have difficulty starting the engine.

Ignition Modes

Ford Fusion. General Information. Keyless Starting

The keyless start system has three modes:

Off: Turns the ignition off.

  • Without pressing the brake pedal, press and release the button once with the ignition on or when the vehicle is running but not moving.

On: All electrical circuits operate and warning lamps and indicators illuminate.

  • Without pressing the brake pedal, press and release the button once.

Start: Starts your vehicle. The engine may not start when the vehicle is cranking.

  • Press the brake pedal, then press the button for any length of time. The indicator on the button illuminates when the ignition is on and when the vehicle is cranking.
