Side Curtain Airbag. Removal and Installation

Removal

1. 1
   If an SRS fault is present, GO to step 2. Otherwise, turn the ignition off, wait at least one minute and GO to step 3.

   Disable the SRS.
   Refer to: Disabling and Enabling the Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) (501-20B Supplemental Restraint System, General Procedures).

   Lower the headliner.
   Refer to: Headliner - Lowering (501-05 Interior Trim and Ornamentation, Removal and Installation).

   Remove the screw, release the clip and remove the bracket.
   Torque: 80 lb-in (9 N·m)

   Release the wiring harness retainer and disconnect the side curtain air bag electrical connector.

   Remove the side curtain air bag screws.
   Torque: 80 lb-in (9 N·m)

   Disconnect the pin retainer and the bracket from the A-pillar.

   1. Slide the side curtain air bag upward and align the bracket tabs with the holes in the sheet metal.

   2. Rotate the top of the side curtain air bag away from the sheet metal and disconnect each of the brackets.

   1. Slide the side curtain air bag upward and align the bracket tabs with the holes in the sheet metal.

   2. Rotate the top of the side curtain air bag away from the sheet metal and remove the side curtain air bag.

    1. Slide the side curtain air bag rearward and align the bracket tab with the hole in the sheet metal.

    2. Rotate the top of the side curtain air bag away from the sheet metal, release the tab and remove the side curtain air bag.

    

Installation

1. 1
   To install, reverse the removal procedure.

   If the SRS was disabled, enable the SRS.
