Cleaning the interior

~4min read

Note: take care to avoid spilling air fresheners or hand disinfectants on interior surfaces. If spilled, clean immediately. Any damage may not be covered by the warranty.

Note: do not use household cleaning products or glass cleaners, which may stain and discolour the fabric, compromising the flame-retardant properties of the materials the seats are made of in the event of fire.

Note: it is recommended to use distilled water for cleaning.

Fabrics, carpets, cloth seats, head restraints and floor mats

Note: Avoid soaking any surface. Do not use excessive amounts of water to clean the vehicle interior.

Note: clean the entire surface to avoid the formation of stains or discolouration.

To clean:

  • Remove dust and dirt with a vacuum cleaner or a brush.
  • Clean the surface with a soft, damp cloth and a solution of water and mild soap. Dry the area with a soft, clean cloth.
  • If a ring mark forms on the fabric after cleaning a stain, clean the entire area immediately, avoiding excessive wetting, otherwise the ring mark will remain.
Safety belts

DANGER

Do not use solvents, bleach or dyes on the vehicle's safety belts as the belt webbing may weaken.

On vehicles equipped with seat-integrated airbags, do not use chemical solvents or particularly aggressive cleaners. Such products could contaminate the side airbag system and impair its performance in the event of an accident.

Note: do not use abrasive substances or chemical solvents to clean them.

Note: prevent moisture from entering the seat belt retractor mechanism.

For cleaning, use water and a neutral detergent. Let surfaces air dry naturally, away from artificial heat sources.

Leather interior

Note: To clean the leather surfaces of the dashboard and cabin trim, follow the same procedure used to clean leather seats.

For routine cleaning, wipe the surface with a solution of water and mild soap using a soft, damp cloth. Dry the area with a soft, clean cloth.

To clean and remove stains caused, for example, by soaking, use a product specifically designed for cleaning leather interiors.

Do not use the following products as they may damage the leather.

  • Leather conditioners based on oil and petroleum or silicone.
  • Household cleaners.
  • Alcohol solutions.
  • Solvents or cleaners specific for rubber, vinyl and plastic.
Microfibre suede fabric

Note: clean the entire surface to avoid the formation of stains or discolouration.

Do not use the following products:

  • Skin care products.
  • Household cleaners.
  • Alcohol-based solutions.
  • Stain removers.
  • Shoe polish.
To clean:
  • Remove dust and dirt with a vacuum cleaner.
Instrument cluster display, LCD screens, radio displays

Note: do not use abrasive substances, or alcohol-based or chemical solvents, to clean the instrument cluster lens, LCD screen or radio display. These products could damage them.

Clean the instrument cluster and its lens with a soft, clean, damp cloth. To dry, use a soft, clean, dry cloth.

Do not spray liquids directly onto screens.

Do not use a microfibre cloth to clean the frame around the screens as it may damage the surface.

Rear windows

Note: Do not use abrasive materials to clean the inside of the rear windows.

Note: do not apply labels or stickers to the inside of the rear windows.

Rear-view mirrors

Do not clean the mirror housing or mirror glass with strong abrasives, fuel or other cleaning products based on petroleum or ammonia.

Glove box, cup holders and ashtray
