To disconnect the jump leads, follow the connection steps in reverse order.
Note: In the illustration, the vehicle at the bottom is the assisting vehicle with the auxiliary battery.

- Disconnect the jump lead from the metal surface used as the ground connection.
- Disconnect the jump lead from the negative (-) terminal of the assisting vehicle's battery.
- Disconnect the jump lead from the positive (+) terminal of the assisting vehicle's battery.
- Disconnect the jump lead from the positive (+) terminal of the disabled vehicle's battery.
After disconnecting the jump leads, leave the disabled vehicle in Ready to Drive mode for several minutes to recharge the 12 V battery. The disabled vehicle can recharge the 12 V battery even if the gasoline engine is off.
The high-voltage battery then supplies energy to the 12 V battery.
