Connecting Jump Leads
Your vehicle's battery has two terminals accessible under the hood, even though the battery is located in the trunk. The vehicle can be started with jump leads in the same way as a conventional vehicle by using these terminals.
The illustration below shows the two connection terminals used to start the vehicle with jump leads.

- Negative terminal (-)
- Positive terminal (+)
Note: In the illustration, the vehicle at the bottom is the assisting vehicle with the auxiliary battery. Note: Remove the red cap from the positive terminal (B) of your vehicle before connecting the cables.

- Connect the positive (+) jump lead to the positive (+) terminal (B) of the discharged battery.
- Connect the other end of the positive (+) cable to the positive (+) terminal of the auxiliary battery.
- Connect the negative (-) cable to the negative (-) terminal of the auxiliary battery.
- Finally, connect the negative (-) cable to the negative (-) terminal (A) of your vehicle's battery.
Note: Do not connect the negative (-) cable to fuel lines, engine rocker covers, intake manifold or electrical components to use them as ground points.
WARNING
Do not connect the end of the second cable to the negative (-) terminal of the battery being charged. A spark may ignite the gases around the battery and cause an explosion.
Make sure the cables are kept away from the fan blades, belts and moving components of both vehicles, as well as parts of the fuel supply system.
