General information
WARNINGS
- Prolonged idling at high engine speed can cause extremely high temperatures in the engine and exhaust system, creating a risk of fire or other damage.
- Do not park, drive or idle your vehicle on dry grass or other dry surfaces. The emission control system heats the engine compartment and exhaust system, creating a risk of fire.
- Do not start the engine in a closed garage or other enclosed space. Exhaust gases can be toxic. Always open the garage door before starting the engine.
- If you smell exhaust fumes inside the vehicle, have it checked immediately by an authorized dealer. Do not drive your vehicle if you smell exhaust fumes.
If you disconnect the battery, your vehicle may exhibit unusual driving characteristics for approximately 5 miles (8 kilometers) after it is reconnected. This occurs because the powertrain control module must relearn its synchronization with the engine. You can disregard these unusual driving characteristics over this distance.
The powertrain system complies with all requirements of the Canadian Interference-Causing Equipment Standard regarding pulse electric field or radio noise interference.
When starting the engine, avoid pressing the accelerator pedal before and during this operation. Only use the accelerator pedal if you have difficulty starting the engine.
