  • Use only approved fuel containers.
  • Remove the container from the vehicle, trunk, or pickup truck bed before filling.
  • Place the container on the ground.
  • Insert the nozzle into the container filler opening before dispensing fuel, and keep it in contact with the filler opening until filling is complete.
  • Do not fill the container more than 95% full to allow for expansion.
  • Do not smoke, strike matches, or use lighters while dispensing fuel.
  • Avoid using electronic devices.
