  1. Remove the coolant recovery reservoir pressure cap when the cooling system is cold. The coolant, the reservoir cap, and the upper radiator hose are no longer hot.

Slowly turn the pressure cap counterclockwise one-quarter turn. If you hear a hissing sound, wait until it stops. This allows any remaining pressure to release through the drain hose.

  2. Continue to slowly turn the pressure cap and remove it.

  3. Fill the coolant recovery reservoir with the correct mixture to the indicated level mark.
  4. With the coolant recovery reservoir cap removed, start the engine and let it run until the upper radiator hose feels hot. Be careful of the engine cooling fans.

At this time, the coolant level inside the coolant recovery reservoir may be low. If the level is low, add more of the correct mixture to the coolant recovery reservoir until the level reaches the indicated level mark.

  5. Install the pressure cap securely.
  6. Check the coolant level after the engine turns off and the coolant is cold. If necessary, repeat the coolant filling procedure, Steps 1–6.

If the coolant level is still not at the proper level when the system has cooled again, see your dealer.
