Three-Point Seat Belt

The diagonal-lap seat belt goes across both hips and over the chest through the shoulder.

To fasten the seat belt, insert the tongue into the buckle and pull up on the belt webbing to make sure the tongue is securely latched in the buckle (for correct seat belt position, refer to page 21).

To unfasten the seat belt, press the red button marked PRESS on the buckle. Fasten the belt and make sure the belt slack is taken up by the retractor. When exiting the vehicle, make sure the belt is not caught in the door opening and will not be pinched when the door is closed.

Each diagonal-lap seat belt is equipped with an inertia reel with an emergency locking function. Under normal conditions, the inertia reel hardly restricts the movement of the occupant and allows them to easily change position on the seat, while still maintaining the necessary belt tension. In a collision or sudden braking, the inertia reel automatically locks the seat belt, preventing dangerous movement of the occupant's upper body.

The diagonal-lap seat belts installed at all rear seating positions of your vehicle are equipped with an additional locking clip, which ensures secure fastening of child restraint systems.

When the shoulder belt webbing is pulled out to its full length, the inertia reel locking mechanism is activated. The belt will retract back onto the reel, but the occupant will not be able to move freely.

To release the inertia reel lock, remove the tongue from the buckle and allow the belt to fully retract onto the reel. To fasten the seat belt again, pull out only the length needed.

The detachable diagonal-lap seat belt installed at the center rear seating position consists of two components: a small tongue and a removable buckle.

When the seatback is in the upright position, the detachable seat belt must be in working condition.

Using the seat belt when the detachable buckle is not properly secured significantly increases the risk of serious injury or death in the event of a collision.

Before using the seat belt, make sure the buckle is properly secured.
