Hill-start Assist Control (HAC)

~1min read

The Hill-start Assist Control (HAC) system helps prevent the vehicle from rolling backward when starting off on a slope. The system automatically controls the brakes for approximately 2 seconds and releases the brake after 2 seconds or when the accelerator pedal is pressed.

WARNING

Always be ready to press the accelerator pedal when starting on a slope. HAC is active for approximately 2 seconds.

NOTICE

  • HAC does not operate when the shift lever is in P (Park) or N (Neutral).
  • HAC operates even when ESC (Electronic Stability Control) is turned off, but it does not operate if the ESC is malfunctioning.
