Smart Cruise Control System

1. Cruise indicator
2. Set speed
3. Distance between vehicles
To view the SCC screen on the LCD in the cluster, select Assist mode (
). For more information, refer to "LCD Modes" in Chapter 3.
The Smart Cruise Control system allows you to program the vehicle to maintain a constant speed and a minimum distance from the vehicle ahead.
The Smart Cruise Control system automatically adjusts your vehicle's speed to maintain the programmed speed and following distance, without requiring you to press the accelerator or brake pedal.
WARNING
For your safety, read the Owner's Manual before using the Smart Cruise Control system.
WARNING
The Smart Cruise Control system does not replace safe driving practices; it is a convenience feature only. The driver is always responsible for monitoring speed and the distance to the vehicle ahead.
WARNING
Observe the following precautions:
- Always set the vehicle speed below the speed limit.
- If Smart Cruise Control remains on (the cruise indicator on the instrument panel is illuminated), Smart Cruise Control may be activated unintentionally. Keep the Smart Cruise Control system off (cruise indicator not illuminated) when Smart Cruise Control is not in use, to avoid unintentionally setting a speed.
- Use the Smart Cruise Control system only when driving on open highways in good weather.
- Do not use Smart Cruise Control if it may be unsafe. Maintain a constant vehicle speed.
- Do not use when:
- Driving in heavy traffic or when road conditions make it difficult to maintain a constant speed
- Driving on wet, icy, or snow-covered roads
- Driving on steep downhill or uphill grades
- Driving in windy areas
- Driving in parking lots
- Passing near emergency barriers
- Driving through sharp curves
- Driving in conditions with limited visibility (for example, due to bad weather such as fog, snow, rain, or sandstorms)
- The detection capability of the system is reduced due to vehicle modification, which results in a difference in the height levels of the front and rear of the vehicle - Unexpected situations may lead to possible accidents. Always pay attention to road conditions and driving, even when the Smart Cruise Control system is operating.
- SCC is only an additional convenience system. The driver is responsible for controlling the vehicle. Do not rely solely on the SCC system.
