Description and Operation of Side Airbag (SAB) Module

~1min read

Description

The side airbags (SAB) are installed inside the front seatbacks and protect the driver and passenger from injury in the event of a side collision. The SRSCM determines side airbag deployment using the Side Impact Sensor (SIS) signal.
  • Never attempt to measure the resistance of the airbag module circuit (squib), even if you use the specified tester. If the circuit resistance is measured with a tester, accidental airbag deployment will result in serious injury.
