Rear Cross-Traffic Collision Warning (RCCW)

If a vehicle detected by the sensors is approaching from the rear left/right side of your vehicle, a warning chime will sound, the indicator light on the outside rearview mirror will flash, and a warning will appear on the LCD. If the rear view monitor system is activated, the warning will also appear on the audio or AVN screen.
The warning will stop when:
- the detected vehicle leaves the detection zone, or
- the vehicle is directly behind your vehicle, or
- the vehicle is no longer approaching your vehicle, or
- the other vehicle decelerates.
CAUTION
- When the operating conditions of the Rear Cross-Traffic Collision Warning system are satisfied, a warning will appear each time a vehicle approaches from the side or rear of a stopped vehicle (vehicle speed 0 mph).
- The warning system may not operate properly if the area to the left or right of your vehicle's rear bumper is blocked by a vehicle or obstacle.
- While driving, always pay attention to road and traffic conditions, whether or not the warning light on the outside rearview mirror is illuminated or a warning chime sounds.
- Playing the vehicle's audio system at a high volume may prevent passengers from hearing the system's warning sounds.
- If another warning sound, such as the unbuckled seat belt chime, is already sounding, the Rear Cross-Traffic Collision Warning may not sound.
WARNING
- Drive safely even if your vehicle is equipped with the Rear Cross-Traffic Collision Warning system. Do not rely solely on the system; check your surroundings when driving in reverse.
- The driver is responsible for controlling the brake accurately.
- Always exercise extreme caution while driving. Rear Cross Traffic Collision-Avoidance Assist may operate incorrectly or operate unnecessarily depending on driving and road conditions.
- The Rear Cross Traffic Collision Warning system does not replace safe driving practices; it is a convenience feature only. It is the driver's responsibility to always drive carefully to prevent unexpected and sudden situations. Always pay attention to road conditions.
