Power Steering Pump - Inspection

1. Measure the free length of the flow control valve spring (unloaded).

Flow control valve spring free length: 36.5 mm 2. Inspect the flow control valve for deformation (bending).

3. Inspect the pump drive shaft for wear or damage.

4. Inspect the pump drive belt for wear or deterioration.

5. Inspect the rotor slots and vanes for stepped wear.

6. Check that there is no stepped wear on the contact surface of the vanes and cam ring.

7. Check the vanes for damage.

8. Check the side plate and the contact areas between the pump drive shaft and the pump cover for wear tracks.
