Malfunction of the Function

If the High Beam Assist system does not operate properly, the "Check High Beam Assist (HBA) System" or "Check HBA (High Beam Assist) System" warning message will appear and the warning light will illuminate on the cluster. Take your vehicle to an authorized HYUNDAI dealer to have the system inspected.

Limitations of the Function

High Beam Assist may not operate properly in the following situations:

  • Light from a vehicle is not detected due to a damaged lamp or because it is hidden from view, etc.
  • The vehicle's headlights are covered with dust, snow, or water.
  • The vehicle's headlights are off but the fog lights, etc. are on.
  • A similar lamp in the shape of a vehicle light is present.
  • The headlights are damaged or have not been repaired properly.
  • The headlights are not aimed properly.
  • Driving on a narrow curved road, an uneven road, or a hill going up or down.
  • The vehicle ahead is only partially visible at an intersection or on a curved road.
  • A traffic light, reflective sign, flashing sign, or mirror is ahead.
  • A temporary reflector or flashing light is ahead (construction site).
  • Road conditions are poor, such as wet, icy, or snow-covered roads.
  • A sudden curve appears.
  • The vehicle is tilted due to a flat tire or is being towed.
  • Light from a vehicle is not detected due to exhaust gas, smoke, fog, snow, etc.

WARNING

  • The High Beam Assist system may not always operate properly. It is the driver's responsibility to practice safe driving and always check road conditions for safety.
  • If the High Beam Assist system does not operate properly, manually change the headlight position between high and low beam.
