Filter Replacement

The air cleaner filter element can be cleaned with compressed air for inspection. Do not attempt to wash or rinse it, as water may damage the filter. If the filter is contaminated, the air cleaner filter element must be replaced.

We recommend that you visit an authorized HYUNDAI dealer to replace the air cleaner filter. Replace the filter according to the Maintenance Schedule.

✽ NOTICE

If the vehicle is operated in extremely dusty or sandy areas, replace the element more often than the recommended intervals (refer to "Severe Conditions Maintenance" in this chapter).

CAUTION

  • Do not drive the vehicle with the air cleaner filter element removed. This will result in excessive engine wear.
  • When removing the air cleaner filter element, be careful not to allow dirt or debris to enter the air intake, as this may cause damage.
  • Use only genuine HYUNDAI parts. The use of non-genuine parts may damage the mass air flow sensor.
