Description
Tread Lamp- Tire Inflation / Leak Warning

- ON Condition
A. When tire pressure is below the threshold B. When the sensor detects a rapid leak. - OFF Condition
A. Under-inflation; when tire pressure is above (warning threshold + hysteresis). B. Rapid leak; when tire pressure is above (leak warning threshold). - ON Condition
A. At the same time as the TREAD Lamp. B. Indicates the wheel location where insufficient inflation / leakage has occurred. - OFF Condition
A. At the same time as the TREAD Lamp.
If the wheel locations change between ignition cycles, the system adopts the previous Auto-Location position. Once Auto-Location calculates the position, the correct lamp illuminates.

- ON Condition
A. When the system detects a malfunction that is external to the receiver/initiator/sensor. B. When the system detects a receiver malfunction. C. When the system detects an initiator malfunction. D. When the system detects a sensor malfunction. - OFF Condition
A. If the malfunction is considered "critical", the lamp remains illuminated for the entire current ignition cycle (even if the DTC has been downgraded). This is because it is important to bring the problem to the driver's attention. In the next ignition cycle, the downgrade conditions will be rechecked. When the downgrade conditions are met, the lamp will turn off. It will remain illuminated until the DTC downgrade check is completed. B. "Non-critical" malfunctions are those that may occur temporarily, for example, due to low vehicle battery voltage. Therefore, the lamp turns off when the DTC downgrade condition occurs. - General Function
A. The system monitors a number of inputs over time to determine whether a malfunction exists. B. Malfunctions are ranked by cause. C. The system stores up to 15 malfunctions. D. Some malfunctions are not covered by DTCs. The main ones are: - Sensor Disabled due to Overheating (239°F/115 °C)
- Ignition line stuck; diagnosis requires monitoring the warning lamps with the ignition switched on.
