SRS storage

~1min read

The SRS system requires virtually no maintenance, and there are no parts that can be safely serviced by yourself. If the SRS warning light "AIR BAG" does not illuminate when the ignition switch is turned to ON, or remains illuminated, it is recommended that the system be inspected immediately by an authorised HYUNDAI dealer.

Any work on the SRS system, such as removal, installation, repair or work on the steering wheel, front passenger-side panel, front seats or roof rails, should be carried out by an authorised HYUNDAI dealer. Improper handling of the SRS system may cause serious personal injury.

WARNING To reduce the risk of serious injury or death, observe the following precautions: - Modifications to SRS components or wiring, including adding stickers to the covers or modifying the body structure, may adversely affect system performance and cause possible injury. - Do not place any object on or near the airbags in the steering wheel, instrument panel or passenger-side dashboard above the glove box. - To clean the airbag covers, use a soft, dry cloth or a cloth dampened with water. Solvents or detergents may damage the covers and affect system operation. - It is recommended that deployed airbags be replaced by an authorised HYUNDAI dealer. - If airbag components must be discarded or if the vehicle must be scrapped, certain precautions must be observed. Consult an authorised HYUNDAI dealer for the necessary information. If these are not followed, the risk of injury increases.
