Additional safety precautions

~1min read

Passengers must not leave their seat or change seats while the vehicle is moving. A passenger who is not wearing a seat belt during a collision or emergency stop may be thrown inside the vehicle against other occupants or out of the vehicle.

Do not use accessories on the seat belt. Devices that claim to improve the comfort or positioning of the belt may reduce the protection it provides and increase the risk of serious injury in a collision.

Do not modify the front seats. Modifying the front seats may interfere with the operation of the airbag sensor components or the side airbags.

Do not store any objects under the front seats. Placing objects under the front seats may interfere with the operation of the airbag sensor components and the wiring.

Do not bump the doors. Bumping the doors when the ignition switch is in the ON position may cause the airbags to deploy.

Adding equipment or modifying a vehicle with airbags

Modifying the vehicle by changing the frame, bumpers or suspension may affect the operation of the airbag system.

Airbag operation (if equipped)

The airbag warning labels are intended to alert the driver and passengers to the potential risk posed by the airbag system. Read all airbag information shown on the sun visor labels.
