The Positive Crankcase Ventilation (PCV) system helps prevent air pollution caused by leakage of crankcase gases. The system supplies the crankcase with filtered air through the air intake hose. Inside the crankcase, fresh air mixes with the blow-by gases, and this mixture passes through the PCV valve into the intake manifold.
