All-season tires, summer tires, winter tires
All-Season Tires
HYUNDAI fits all-season tires on some models to provide good performance for year-round use, including in snowy and icy road conditions. All-season tires are marked ALL SEASON and/or M+S (mud and snow) on the tire sidewall. Snow tires have better traction in snow than all-season tires and may be more suitable in some areas.
Summer Tires
HYUNDAI fits summer tires on some models to provide superior performance on dry roads. The performance of summer tires is significantly reduced on snow and ice. Summer tires do not have the M+S (mud and snow) rating on the tire sidewall. If you plan to drive the vehicle in snow or ice conditions, HYUNDAI recommends using snow tires or all-season tires on all four wheels.
Winter Tires
If you equip your vehicle with snow tires, they must be the same size and have the same load capacity as the original tires. Snow tires should be installed on all four wheels; otherwise, handling may be adversely affected. Snow tires should be inflated to 4 psi (28 kPa) higher than the pressure recommended for standard tires on the tire placard on the driver's side B-pillar, or to the maximum pressure stated on the tire sidewall, whichever is lower. Do not drive faster than 120 km/h when your vehicle is equipped with snow tires.
Radial Tires
Radial-ply tires provide longer tread life, resistance to road hazards, and a smoother ride at high speeds. The radial tires used on this vehicle have a belted construction and have been selected to complement the ride comfort and handling characteristics of your vehicle.
Radial-ply tires have the same load capacity as bias-ply or bias-belted tires of the same size and with the same recommended inflation pressure. Mixing radial-ply tires with bias-ply or bias-belted tires is not recommended. Any combination of radial and bias-ply or bias-belted tires used on the same vehicle seriously degrades vehicle handling. Best practice: identical pairs of radial tires should always be used as a set for the front tires and a set for the rear tires.
Tires with longer tread life may be more susceptible to uneven tread wear. It is very important to follow the tire replacement interval specified in this chapter in order to achieve the full tread life potential of these tires. Cuts and punctures in radial tires can be repaired only in the tread area due to sidewall flexing. Consult your HYUNDAI tire dealer for radial tire repair.
WARNING
Never mix bias-ply and radial tires. This may cause unusual handling characteristics, which may lead to loss of vehicle control resulting in a crash.
